Isha Vidhya, a not for profit education initiative, works for the economic and social empowerment of rural children in the villages across southern state of Tamil Nadu, India. Through this effort, the foundation is committed to raising the level of education and literacy in rural India and to helping disadvantaged children realize their full potential.

The foundation through its Isha Vidhya schools offer a nurturing approach to education in villages. Isha Vidhya has been an active supporter of promoting education among female children in the villages and all our schools have seen an increased enrollment of girl children.

Isha Vidhya currently runs 10 schools (Click here for School Location ) and this has had a great impact in the lives of villages in the surrounding locality. Our 9th school started in the year 2013-14 at Samichettipatty village, Dharmapuri Dt. Tamil Nadu and 10th School started in the year 2019-20 at Sengal Village, Karur Dt, Tamil Nadu. The schools presently cater to more than 8523 students from nearby villages, with approximately 60% of students on free education through donations from our scholarship program.

This has created the possibility for the rural children to pursue higher education or find gainful employment and thus build a strong foundation for the future of these children and alleviate themselves out of poverty.

Isha Vidhya functions on a grass-roots level, relying on community involvement and the support of innumerable volunteers and donors. Through this website, we invite you to learn more about Isha Vidhya and join us in our efforts to empower the rural youth of India!
