SDAT Athletic competition:
Sports Development Authority of Tamil Nadu and Directorate of Youth Welfare conducted Athletic Championship in Tuticorin on 11th and 12th Feb 2014. Nearly 800 students participated in the championship, out of which 21 were Isha Vidhya students from Tuticorin.
Four students from Isha Vidhya were selected to represent Tuticorin district at Regional Level Athletic Championship which was conducted on 15th and 16th of February 2014. The students were S. Thanga Jebin (6th std) who came 1st in Long Jump event; R. Sudha (6th std) who came 1st in High Jump event; A. Susil Abishake (8th std) who came 1st in Shot Put event and S. Pravin (7th std) who came 3rd in Long jump and 3rd in Silambattam.
In the Regional Level Athletic Championship students of schools from Kanyakumari, Kovilpatti, Thoothukudi and Thirunelveli competed. Despite competing for the first time in inter-school level Athletic championship, Tuticorin school students performed extremely well. Their exemplary conduct and performance was noticed and commended by other school officials.
In the Regional Level championship, S.Thanga Jebin came 2nd in Long Jump, R. Sudha came 2nd in High Jump; A. Susil Abishake camoe 2nd in Shotput and S. Pravin came 5th in Long Jump.

Junior Red Cross program at Villupuram School:
Junior Red Cross (JRC) program was started at Villupuram School. Forty one students from 6th to 9th std joined the program of whom 14 are girls. Mr. Babu, a councillor of JRC, was invited to inaugurate the program.
Mr. Babu explained about the importance and values of JRC along with the expections from JRCs. He taught the JRC song, which was in Hindi and later explained the meaning of the words. He also taught the flag song. Mr. Babu encouraged the JRC students to add new music to JRC song to make the song popular.

Erode Students excel at Sports Meet:
Forty two students from Isha Vidhya Erode participated in Erode Educational District Level Sports Meet 2013-2014. The meet was conducted under the World beaters talent spotting scheme. Approximately 1800 students from 50 schools from Erode district participated in the event.
Isha Vidhya students performed well and Dinesh S. R. J. won the chance to receive free coaching at the Sports Camp organized by Sports Development Authority of Tamil Nadu! He became eligible for the free coaching after coming 3rd in overall District Level championship.
Anand R (8th std) and Dharani R (8th std) secured 10th position in Long jump while Priyadharishni R (8th std) came 5th in Long Jump. Keerthana R (6th std) came 10th in 100 m race and Dinesh S.R.J, (6th std) came 5th in 400m race, 8th in 200m race, 1st in 100m race!

| National Science Day:
Tuticorin students from 6th and 8th std recently participated in the National Science Day organized by Annai Vailankanni College of Engineering, Kanyakumari and Common Wealth Science and Technology Academy for Research.
'Solar' (working model) was presented by Parthiban and Sathish Kumar of 8th std, science project 'Natural manure' was presented by Naveen and Priyan of 8th std, Subashini of 8th std presented the project 'Solar - An alternative source for cooking'. Atchaya of 8th std presented a study 'Comparison of physique among Kootampuli students' while Ragavi and Selva Sundari of 6th std presented a working model of 'Safety alarm for Tamilnadu fisherman'.
Presentations by the students went well and they also handled the Q&A session competently. Though they didn't win any prizes, they learnt much from participating in the competition.
